trapped in the snow globe

Here I am, in Indiana, with the snow and the wind and the marked lack of sunshine. I should be in SC. Oh, Elton, why doth thou smite me? One Elton John concert cancellation and my trip home is postponed. Granted, I am the one who ultimately postponed it because I am trying to be a good girl, responsible and all that. I'm working on my thesis here in wintry Indiana instead of playing in sunny SC. I know that I've made the right choice, but I can't help feeling sad when I think that under different circumstances, I would be setting foot on Columbia soil in just a few short hours (and of course drinking sweet tea by the gallon and eating the most amazing southern Indian food this side of the Atlantic). I miss home.
