Tampon bowling, anyone?

A while back I read about this new line of tampons and pads, Ditties, that had just come out. What makes these particularly noteworthy (sorry for the pun) are the little sayings or "Ditties" printed on the wrapper. To me it seemed to be another way to put a little joy in your day. I love words and catchy phrases on my "feminine hygeine products" sounds cool. The joy of wearing words is not lost on me. So, I anxiously awaited their arrival at the local drugstore (as promised in the magazine article) but alas, they didn't show. Trying new tampons not being first on my agenda, I forgot about the little novelties and went about my merry way. Today, I happened upon that article again and was intrigued enough to do a bit of web browsing. I googled "dittie tampons" and my efforts were quickly rewarded with a list of hits, including the dittie tampon website. Surprisingly, my search turned up, not only ways of purchasing ditties, but also additional articles on the topic. The one that caught my eye was on salon.com. The writer seemed awfully concerned about this product giving it lengthy attention and analysis. After looking at it, I went back to the article in Bitch magazine (my first introduction to ditties). I was a little disappointed by their analysis as well until I read some of the "ditties" which did seem kind of lame (hmm, kind of like this post). However, to give the inventor of "ditties" credit, she certainly came up with an idea that would get her product noticed. Has a new line of tampons ever created this much of a media stir?

Oh, yeah and tampon bowling is available courtesy of their website. Check it out:
